Frequently Asked Questions

Will the extracted text keep its formatting?

Line breaks and paragraphs are preserved based on the text positions on each PDF page. Bold, italic, and colors are not preserved because it's plain text output. If you need formatting, use our PDF to Word tool instead.

Can it extract text from scanned PDFs?

No. Scanned PDFs are images with no embedded text — you need OCR (Optical Character Recognition) for those. Our PDF to Text tool works only on PDFs with selectable, digital text.

Can I extract only specific pages?

Yes! Use the "Page Range" field to enter a range like 1-5, or a list like 1, 3, 5, 7-10. Leave it blank to extract all pages.

Are my files safe and private?

Absolutely. Your PDF is processed entirely in your browser using pdf.js (Mozilla's official PDF library). It is never uploaded to any server. We never see, store, or have access to your files.
