Frequently Asked Questions

How accurate is the table extraction?

Accuracy depends on how the PDF was created. PDFs generated from Word, Excel, or web pages usually extract very well. PDFs with merged cells, multi-line cells, or irregular spacing may need tuning — try changing the sensitivity setting.

Why does my extracted table look messy?

PDFs don't store tables as tables — they only store text at X/Y coordinates. Our algorithm reconstructs rows and columns from those positions. Try switching sensitivity to High for denser tables, or Low if columns are being split apart.

Is my PDF uploaded to a server?

No. Your PDF is processed entirely in your browser using pdf.js. It is never uploaded, stored, or transmitted anywhere. You can even disconnect from the internet after the page loads and it will still work.

Can I convert a scanned PDF?

No — scanned PDFs contain images, not text. You'll get "No text found" if you try. Use the OCR PDF tool first to add a text layer, then come back to this tool.

What file formats can I download?

The output is a standard .xlsx file (Office Open XML), compatible with Microsoft Excel 2007+, Google Sheets, LibreOffice Calc, Apple Numbers, and any modern spreadsheet app.
